Biography

Omeed Nyman is a multi-instrumentalist and educator in the Bucks County, PA area. He graduated from Temple University’s Boyer College of Music (’23), where he studied with musicians such as Blair Bollinger & Matthew Vaughn (Philadelphia Orchestra), as well as Terell Stafford, Dick Oatts, Max Seigel and Mark Patterson (Vanguard Jazz Orchestra).

Omeed has performed with some of largest names in the industry, including Joey DeFrancesco, Christian McBride, Larry McKenna, Tom Scott, James Morrison, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Sean Jones, Wycliffe Gordon, Marshall Gilkes, Arturo O’Farrill, Nels Cline, and many others.

His career has taken him all over the globe, having performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Dizzy’s Coca Cola Club, Smalls Jazz Club, Birdland, Bryant Park, Catalina Jazz Club, Chris’ Jazz Cafe, The Kimmel Center, as well as touring internationally in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Zhuhai, Taipei, Taichung, and Australia.

The Omeed Nyman Group performs regularly at local venues such as Vault Brewing Company, DeLorenzo’s Tomato Pies, the Morrisville Tavern, the Logan Inn, and many others. Omeed serves as brass and woodwinds instructor at Music Forte in Fairless Hills Pennsylvania, as well as teaching privately.

Omeed is an S.E. Shires Rising Artist, in addition to being 1st prize winner for the University of North Texas Jazz Trombone competition, sponsored by B.A.C. Musical Instruments.
